What is SmartBelt Calculator?

SmartBelt Calculator is an upgrade calculation and document-creation application for martial arts schools. It replaces fragile spreadsheets with exact, rules-based math so staff can calculate credit, time remaining, and upgrade options quickly and consistently. No formulas to break. No estimates. Just precise numbers you can stand behind.

Staff can save school-specific settings and templates, calculate program options, and generate formatted PDF documents for families. If a user chooses Save to Google Drive, SmartBelt Calculator requests the limited drive.file permission solely to save the PDF the user created and manage files created through SmartBelt Calculator. Connecting Google Drive is optional. SmartBelt Calculator does not request access to browse, read, or manage the user's other Google Drive files.

Jul 16, 2026 Custom Document Templates and Rich Document Editing Create reusable document templates with custom fonts, colors, links, lists, page borders, and fully customizable tables. Generated documents can also be edited for individual families before printing or saving as a PDF without changing the original template.

Meet the Developer

Hi, I’m Braxton Hartmann. When I started as a Program Director, upgrade math made sense, but it felt vague, especially figuring out how much time a student had left. I wanted it to be easy peasy lemon squeezy, but it was difficult difficult lemon difficult.

I built a spreadsheet to help, but one misclick could break formulas. So I put my computer science degree to work and built SmartBelt to make upgrade math fast, accurate, and easy.

Why this exists

Upgrades require accuracy and trust. SmartBelt ensures credit is calculated fairly, pricing remains consistent, and staff can focus on the conversation instead of the math.
